Wroxham were twice pegged back after leading through Sonny Carey after 7 minutes and Nathan Stewart after 14 minutes by high flying Godmanchester Rovers. An 86th minute winner saw the Huntingdonshire side return with all three points.
In a thrilling end-to-end game that was worthy of the upper echelons of the league, Wroxham will count themselves unlucky that they didn’t, at the very least, share the points.
In a first half which saw the Yachtsmen regularly attack and create chances, the 2-1 half-time lead looked as though it should have been more. Chances went abegging and many of the 162 attendance were hoping that this would not come back to haunt them.
Unfortunately for the home side, no further goals were forthcoming and Godmanchester upped their game after the half-time break to score twice and take all three points.
